Contact the Club Secretary to arrange a “First Visit”, this will be at the Sealand range, where you will be given a brief introduction to the club and the safety aspects of shooting will be explained to you.
Should you wish to apply for Probationary membership and attend your first shooting session, a membership application form and a copy of the Club Range Briefing will be provided
To become a probationary member, you must be at least 16 years old and be of sufficient stature to support the rifle in the prone position. This can be assessed at the first visit, Junior members both probationary and full, must be accompanied by a parent or guardian whilst on club shoots. There are no exceptions to this rule.
If you decide to progress your membership application you must fully complete the membership application form, read the club safety rules and bring along the following items for security and identity checks.
Probationary Membership is for a minimum of 3 months and a maximum of 6 months during which full coaching and instruction on basic marksmanship principles and the safe handling of firearms will be given.
You will need to purchase ammunition from the club at current costs. Unused ammunition must be returned to the Club and never removed from the range.
During the Probationary Membership, you will be continually assessed following the NRA Safe Shooting System to ensure that you are capable of shooting safely with a rifle. Should you be deemed safe you may apply for full membership of the club.
